Traveling through the sounds of the unknown My eyes learned how to see in the dark All my senses woke up My mind's wide open Through the paths I've never known I found the most daring flowers Wild creations of pure nature My heart's wide open We were never the shadows Behind the light We weren't meant to be hidden In this comfortable night Traveling through the sounds of the unknown My eyes learned how to see in the dark All my senses woke up My mind's wide open

Parceria 02:23

Little Beast 04:18
I can fly If I open my eyes I can fly My mind is open and free I stop feeding the little beast Inside my head So it doesn’t take With her nasty words All the sound space So there’s room for the music So there’s room for the soul to dance So there is freedom for my heart to Feed its birds I can’t hide If I let the sun burn I can’t hide My soul is open and free I start leading the little beast Into my heart So it doesn’t put out the fire Instead of watering the grass So there’s room for the music So there’s room for the soul to dance So there is freedom for my heart to Feed its birds

One day In an endless universe of bright stars A tiny little seed began to grow Knowing not what it would become, just evolving From the roots to the leaves And a hundred years after It's still here One day In an ocean full of hidden stories A whale is singing songs to help you find your path There's a boat of dreamers Trying to find a home There's life and death Playing a chess game Above the sky And I woke up with no belongings Being not allowed to own the land Or fly through the sky With solitude, and love like water In an ocean where we are all connected One day In an endless universe of bright stars A tiny little seed began to grow Knowing not what it would become, just evolving

about

Plato’s "Allegory Of The Cave" describes those who are able to leave their comfort zone and uncover the true source of shadows reflected on a wall. "Daring Flowers" is inspired by this concept. Orilla was born out of Ona and Alejandro’s search for a place to have a freer artistic identity. Their music is not bound by genres and is guided by honesty and pure joy. This album is a sonic representation of that notion, as Jobim freely co-exists with The Beatles and Joan Manuel Serrat. Originals like ‘Parceria’ and ‘Dona de Mar’ explore the familiar and unexpected. The traditional Catalan song ‘El Cant Del Ocells’ is solemn and big while ‘Little Beast’ is playful and minimalist. These songs combine as the true expression of Ona and Alejandro in the rich musical ecosystem that is Orilla: unbound by limitations and constantly evolving with the waves of change.

about

Orilla Florida

Orilla (O-ree-yah) is co-led by Catalan-Spanish singer/multi-instrumentalist Ona Kirei and
Colombian bassist Alejandro Arenas.
Like the meaning of the Spanish word orilla; where the ocean meets the sand, the combination of these two accomplished musicians produces a rich musical ecosystem: Latino and European roots mix with American culture giving way to a uniquely creative multicultural sound.
